Krum Athletic Booster Club Scholarships

 

KABC offers scholarship opportunities to graduating seniors for continuing their education beyond high school. Scholarships start at a minimum of $500 and go up to $1000. Awarded funds are paid directly to the institution of higher learning. Applications are due on or before April 1st of each year.

KABC SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for a scholarship, a student must meet the following criteria:

1) Athletic Participation: Participation will be verified by the Athletic Director

2) Academic Standing: The student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA (through the end of the current reporting period) of 80% on a 100% scale. The student’s GPA must be verified by a guidance counselor.

3) Booster Club Membership & Participation: Student’s parent(s)/Guardian(s) must be a current member of the KABC and have attended a minimum of three (3) KABC meetings. The Student-Athlete must have participated in no less than four (4) KABC run events during their Senior year at Krum High School. Must be verified by KABC board member.

4) Higher Education: The student must enroll in a higher learning institution no more than eight (8) months after graduation from Krum High School. Such institutions include not only colleges and universities, but also technical and vocational schools and institutes.

5) Financial Need: Financial need is not a consideration to be awarded this scholarship.

6) Application Deadline: Student must complete and submit the full application for consideration on the attached forms to KABC Mailbox in KISD Administration Building on or before April 1st

7) Recommendations: One (1) recommendation from a Coach and one (1) recommendation from a teacher is required to be submitted with the application. The student must distribute the forms to the teacher/coach early enough so that they have time to complete them in a timely manner. The teachers and coaches will be submitting their recommendation forms directly to the student in a sealed and signed envelope. These must remain sealed with original signatures.

8) Written Essay: The scholarship committee will review the applications, recommendations, and the written essays for all qualified applicants. Essays must be handwritten, legible and be five hundred (500) words or less. Reasonable accommodations will be allowed for students unable to write by contacting KABC prior to submitting application.
